I go to the hotels along I10 (Days Inn, Sheraton, etc.) and the African Village south of those hotels. I also like the tents near the Holidome and at Tucson Electric Park. (Did you look at my Gem Show posts?) As for other shopping, 4th Ave. and the Lost Barrio are fun-- lots of unique shops and local art.

Food: Tucson has great local restaurants. I avoid the chain establishments. Feast, King Fisher, and Cafe Poca Cosa are great for high-end dinners. Guadalajara Grill, Mi Nidito, and El Minuto are my favorite Mexican restaurants. The downtown El Charro has great ambiance and a very cool patio but just ok food. El Parador has good food, great salsa dancing, and tastey Margaritas. Beyond Bread has wonderful salads and sandwiches. Sushi Ten has good sushi but it can be nosiey and crowded.Pamelahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12893395886835828431noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35010279.post-15148885592642981642007-09-22T07:00:00.000-07:002007-09-22T07:00:00.000-07:00We are going to be in Tucson for the 2008 Gem and ...We are going to be in Tucson for the 2008 Gem and Mineral Show. I read your blog entry on that and I wondered if you would be so kind as to give us some tips on lodging, shopping, and food. I love mosaic, collage, fabric art, and your blog made me think you would have suggestions we would like.
Thanks!
JeriAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
